Third Party, Exceptions, and More...
I have looked into third party candidates who are running, thinking that maybe there was someone who I could vote for who was 100% in line with my prolife stance. I believe in the right to life from biological beginning until natural death. I believe that we are created in the image of God, with no exceptions. I found one candidate on my (Florida) ballot that is 100% prolife, BUT he is not on the ballot in all 50 states, not even close. I have wrestled with this idea of "compromise" for weeks. Someone I know and trust who is even more deeply influential in the prolife community than myself, reminded me of the scripture we often reference around election time...
But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.
Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
The third party candidate I was considering was not "capable" or "able" to get on all the state ballots, and another candidate I had been considering is no longer running.
At this point it comes down to two candidates that are capable and able to become the next president.
It is now my duty to determine which candidate is more in line with the rest of the passage...fear God, men of truth (or trustworthy), hating covetousness (or dishonest gain).
Lou Engle of the International House of Prayer has also been pondering...specifically the prophetic implications of a Romney vote. You can read his article in Charisma Magazine HERE. I highly suggest that you do.
