For the Sake of Ten...

Genesis 18:16-33

Abraham Pleads for Sodom

When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way. Then the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him. For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”
Then the Lord said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.”
The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the Lord. Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”
The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.
Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?”
“If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”
Once again he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?”
He said, “For the sake of forty, I will not do it.”
Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?”
He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”
Abraham said, “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?”
He said, “For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.”
Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?”
He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”
When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.

This was on my heart today:

Signs and wonders will be seen this year. You will see that I am above the office of the president. My will will be done. I do not answer to earthly governments. You will show My glory to others. You will exalt Me as I work my wonders. Share truth with others. Stay in tune with Me so you will be able to do so. Share My grace and mercy with others. Do not pray for calamity to prove a point or to prove your self right. Show the people how I keep My promises. 2 Cor 7:14 is My promise, not to be fulfilled by a man but by Me! I am on the throne. Am I on the throne of your heart? Do not fear. Fear is doubt taking hold of your heart. I am sovereign. I am just as able today as I was yesterday and last week. My power has not been suddenly limited. Self is flesh. I am Spirit. Abide in Me. Put your self, flesh, under the Spirit. Trust Me. Do not put your faith in man or party. I have seen your hearts. I have seen your choices. I do not lump the righteous together with the wicked. Today is your Lot/Abraham moment. When I judge I also give grace. The wealth of the wicked will be stored up for the righteous. As the Lord said, "For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it."

You have worked hard, you have shared truth, you have upheld My Word and My standards and My righteousness. You have made a statement for Me, and I do not ignore My children. In Egypt the Hebrews were separated from my wrath by the lambs blood on the doorposts, Rahab tied the red scarf in her window, Noah built the ark, and Lot left Sodom and Gomorrah. Time after time I have put forward a test. This election was a test for you. I will not destroy the righteous with the wicked. I am Love and I am Just. I must punish sin, because I am Just, but because I am Love I will not destroy the righteous. Teach people truth. Spare as many as you can from this coming judgment. Do not rejoice in anyone's sorrow, but seek to bring them into My saving grace. I do not joy in judgment, but I must judge because I AM justice. Share Truth. I AM Truth. Share My Love. I AM Love. The harvest is ripe, but the workers are few. Many salvations are coming, but you are My vessels. Stay in communication with Me. Keep your heart bowed to Me and Me alone. Do not bow to fear, frustration, anger, or despair, only to Me. I love you, My children. I love you and I see you.

Abraham was imploring that God not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah if their could be found 10 righteous in the city.  Abraham was bold, yet humble, in asking God for grace.  This is our Abraham moment.  We must continue to intercede before God for our nation.

This is also our Lot moment.  We are in but not of this world.  It is time for us to get rid of the compromises in our lives.  Many 18-29 year olds voted against life and Biblical principles.  They have been educated by a worldly system and then we are surprised that they have voted according to the dictates of the world.  It is time to separate ourselves.  This does not mean never being around unbelievers, but it means we need to be under Biblical systems of education, not the education of the world.  We are to lend to nations, not to borrow.  We are to be the head, and not the tail.

Verses to Contemplate After the Election
Compiled by Theresa Neidrauer and Gary Butler, Chaplains
The King’s Academy

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

"Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God"  Psalm 146:3-5

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.”  Psalm 20:7-8.

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; He directs it like a watercourse wherever He pleases.”  Proverbs 21:1

“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are His.  He changes times and seasons; He sets up kings and deposes them.”  Daniel 2:20-21
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”  John 14:27

“I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand on the earth.”  Job 19:25

“Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.  And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross!  Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  Philippians 2:4-11

  1. Amen! As bad as it seems, I cannot bear witness in my spirit with those who pronounce God's judgement of destruction on our nation. We are so many more than ten!
