Thanksgiving. It can be an interesting day for young people. Extended family always wants to know what young people are up to. Questions abound at Thanksgiving dinner. One most likely to come up is, "What are you going to be when you grow up?" This can be a fun question, or dreaded one. Many young people have no idea what they want to be. Do you know any that fit that category? How does one determine the call that God has put upon their life? Many do not even think about this. Yet once you think about it, you realize that it is very important. As parents, it is our responsibility to help our children determine the call that God has put upon their lives. But how do we do this? How do our children fit into the five-fold ministry? I have found a Christian Leadership University course to help us do just that. It is called, "Gifted to Succeed". This course asks a lot of questions. By answering these questions, you can determine your gifting area, or areas, and understand how to apply them in the ministry sense and in the world, as a means of income. I don't know a single person who could not benefit from this.
Not sure what your gifts are? Check Out Gifted to Succeed
Once you have determined your child's area of gifting, find them a mentor, or look around for internship or apprentice programs or jobs that fit with their calling! Ask God to enable you to help them succeed in that which He has called them to, rather than watching them flail around from temporary position to temporary position.
