Take Action: Blunt Conscience Protection Amendment

Conscience is the most sacred of all property. - James Madison

The Bible talks about the importance of a clear conscience quite a bit. In Acts 24:16 Paul says to Governor Felix, “So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man.” Many more scriptures regarding “Conscience” can be found Here

CONSCIENCE, n. [L., to know, to be privy to.]

1. Internal or self-knowledge, or judgment of right and wrong; or the faculty, power or principle within us, which decides on the lawfulness or unlawfulness of our own actions and affections, and instantly approves or condemns them. Conscience is called by some writers the moral sense, and considered as an original faculty of our nature. Others question the propriety of considering conscience as a distinct faculty or principle. The consider it rather as the general principle of moral approbation or disapprobation, applied to ones own conduct and affections; alledging that our notions of right and wrong are not to be deduced from a single principle or faculty, but from various powers of the understanding and will.
Being convicted by their own conscience, they went out one by one. John 8.
The conscience manifests itself in the feeling of obligation we experience, which precedes, attends and follows our actions.
Conscience is first occupied in ascertaining our duty, before we proceed to action; then in judging of our actions when performed.  (Read the Full 1828 Noah Webster Dictionary Definition)

In a post on their website, HSLDA states, “On Friday, January 20, the Obama Administration issued final rules confirming what many had feared: all employers—including religious organizations—would be required to pay for contraceptives, including abortion-inducing drugs like Ella and Plan B. This applies even if an employer has strongly held religious or conscientious beliefs against offering these types of drugs to employees. This new federal mandate applies to all health plans, even private ones, even if no federal money is involved.” (Read the full article.)

There is something we can do. Read the Blunt Conscience Protection Amendment by Senator Roy Blunt (MO)

Call the Capitol and speak with your Senator. The numbers are: 202.224.3121; 202.225.3121; the toll free numbers for the Capitol Switchboard include: 1-866-220-0044 1-877-851-6437, 1-800-833-6354, 1-888-355-3588, 1-866-808-0065, 1-877-762-8762, 1-800-862-5530.

Call or Email your Senators (Find your Senators and Their Email Addresses) and ask them the following:

“Please vote in favor of the Blunt Conscience Protection Amendment. Please contact me back with your vote. We are all Catholics now.” (Or whatever you wish to say.)

Catholic hospitals do not want to be forced to provide abortifacient pills, that their faith and belief system specifically prohibit. We must band together with the Catholics as they stand up for freedom of conscience. If we lose our right to object on moral or religious grounds we have lost “the most sacred of all property”. I'm not a conspiracy theorist.  This is not a joke.   This is real and we must stand against this gross injustice. This is an attack on faith and liberty in the greatest measure. Please “share” this post with all your friends on Facebook, Twitter, or whatever social networks you subscribe to. After you call or email your senators leave a comment below saying “I called.” or “I emailed.”  Let's get active!  Don't let this chance to stand and have your voice heard go by!
